The Hawthorn Shawl Pattern Release and Mrs. Crosby Plays Yarn Giveaway

I am so excited to share my newest creation with you, the Hawthorn Shawl! My inspiration came from this amazing yarn from Mrs. Crosby Plays. I was visiting my sister, Stephanie, in Fredericksburg, TX. We went shopping in the downtown area and came across a store called, Lauren Bade. I was so happy to discover that they sold yarn! They have a beautiful selection of specialty yarns.

I picked up the Mrs. Crosby Plays Carpet Bag and was sold. It’s a wool/silk blend that has a luxurious feel. I bought the Buttercup and Magnolia colorways.  When I got home and started swatching with it, I knew the splurge was worth it. This yarn is simply decadent. It’s a sport/dk weight and there are 240 yds per skein. It seemed to shout “I want to be a shawl.” That gave me the idea of a lightweight, yet textured shawl. The name is in honor of my sister’s new home in Fredericksburg, TX.
