Join Team Denton on Saturday, April 5 for a Knit-a-Thon benefiting Knit for Food!
Knit for Food is a 12-hour knitting marathon to raise funds and awareness for food insecurity. 100% of funds raised will be equally divided between Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, No Kid Hungry, and Meals on Wheels.
There are several ways to support the Knit-a-thon:
- Sign up to knit/craft with us on April 5 at the link above. Seating is limited so sign up now!
- Join the fundraising team at the link above.
- Donate to Knit for Food at the link above.
- Volunteer to help out at the Knit-a-Thon. Email shelly@daisystitchco.com.
- Donate items for giveaways.
The Knit-a-Thon will be held at the following places in Denton: (Seating will be limited, so sign up for your spot at the link above.)
- 9am-1pm Greater Denton Arts Council Craft Room, 400 E Hickory St, Denton, Coffee, water, and light snacks provided.
- 1pm-5pm Steve’s Wine Bar 111 Industrial St, Denton $6 glasses of wine available and 10:1 cheese boards provided.
- 5pm-9pm The Dime Store 118 E McKinney St, Denton Water and light snacks provided.
You do not have to fundraise to participate. But those who do fundraise will be eligible to participate in some giveaways.
You do not have to be a knitter to participate. All crafters all welcome!
Knit for Food was founded by knitwear designer Laura Nelkin and was inspired by her daughter’s AmeriCorps position at their local food bank during the pandemic summer of 2020. Knit for Food is run by a small but mighty team of volunteers who put their all into ensuring the success of this fundraiser year after year!
